The judging panel of the 21st Salão Design Award brings young names of Brazilian design that echo in the world, with the debut of designers Brunno Jahara and Nicole Tomazi as judges of the awards. The group includes designers Glaucia Binda, Paulo Biacchi and Ivens Fontoura, who is also a museologist and historian. Award entries have been closed this week, with projects enrolled by Students, Professionals and Industries.

Considered the main product design award in Latin America, the Salão Design Award is promoted by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves, valuing the work of the designer and subsidizing its investment in the search for new solutions for the furniture industry. In this edition, the projects compete in five categories: Social Spaces; Intimate Spaces; Work Spaces; Innovation in Materials and Surfaces and a specific category for E-commerce. Cash prizes range from R $ 5,000 for students to R $ 10,000 for professionals and industries.

The first stage of the awarding takes place in December, with the finalists being announced on January 24. After that, the selected ones send their products in real size. The awards and finalists show will be held in August 2017 at the High Design - Home & Office Expo, August 8-10, during DW! São Paulo Design Weekend.
